Under the Rainbow Halloween II Time Bandits Ghost Story Heartbeeps I actually wouldn't mind seeing an ongoing revival film series showing a selection of movies from any one particular year or summer. Apr 25 12 4:13 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	That is a good line-up from '81. I saw all those films (except COMIN AT YA) in the theatre, first-run. Actually, I had gotten into the habit of seeing movies at the very first screening on the day they opened whenever I could. Partly this was for the novelty of it, and partly so I could see everything fresh, with few preconceptions. I know I caught HEARTBEEPS and THE HOWLING later in their runs, but, far as I can recall, I was at the first matinee screening of all those others. Ooops, one exception. RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK and CLASH OF THE TITANS both opened on the same day. I saw RAIDERS at its first showing, and CLASH immediately after, at its second screening. Lotta great moviegoing memories there.

Though not part of the summer lineup, don't forget 2012 also has part one of the Hobbit coming out later this year, which should be truly awesome in 48 fps and 3D no less. And I really think John Carter (of Mars) would have been way better received if it had not dropped in March but later on in the year where it really belongs as a big budget summer popcorn event flick. Seeing as how it was on TV,i watched the whole thing and it REALLY made an impression on me as a kid. One of the films of my youth that didn't give me a scare every so often but some genuine terrors.
