But older editions, in good shape, with their nice color plates, run hundreds of dollars each. So I was thrilled when Books of Wonder published their beautiful, faithful hardback reproductions, with slip-covers and the color illustrations, for about $20 each. I also love the 40 or so Edgar Rice Burroughs Ace paperback editions, with their cool covers by Frazetta and Krenkel and others. As collectibles go, they're pretty attainable at $4 to $10 apiece. But if someone republished them faithfully, I'd happily collect the new ones. Of course, it's none of my business what other people collect or how much they spend. But I do caution people to be aware of when their collecting hobby/habit starts to interfere with their overall standard of living, and the needs of those who depend on them. Guess it's like any addiction, eh? Corloff, I have to agree with you. I own the entire EC Collection via Russ Cochran's Hardbound reproductions as well as the comic book reproductions. I don't have the money to invest in the actual 1950's originals.
