I am developing a presentation and paper for our local society and would appreciate your participation.  I have been a member of the Diogenes Club in Dallas, TX for 5 years now.  I was originally introduced into the world of Holmes during a visit to the Red Circle meeting in D.C., hosted by one of the nicest men I have ever met, Mr. Peter Blau (BSI).  Peter has been gracious through the years of providing me insights, resources, and actually read a couple of my non-scholarly papers for our society, and provided good comments on each.

PREMISE:
You are given the chance to receive and keep one-(1) momento from any of the stories of the Canon.  For example, you could ask for and receive:  a pipe used by Holmes, the Persian slipper, magnifying glass, or any token of appreciation given to Holmes;  any item used by Watson, such as the tin box or his notebook; or you can receive any other item in the Canon -- a Napoleon bust, the orange pips, even the beryl coronet.  You must decide which item would be the most endearing to you and why.

Item:
Story:
Reason for wanting this item:

ONLY TWO RULES APPLY:
1.  The item must be from the Canon itself, and not from a pastiche, movie, or other media.
2.  You must agree to keep the item for the rest of your life, so you cannot immediately re-sale it (takes away the monetary value for greed purposes).

I very much appreciate all who participate... I will send out the top 10 results once I have compiled all the results....

Faithfully yours, Steve
