Apr 4 12 8:25 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Our kids still love to hunt for Easter eggs, so I'm sure we'll be boiling and coloring about 3 dozen of them. They still look forward to getting Easter baskets and play along with the Easter Bunny concept (because they know they won't get anything if they don't ) so it's still kind of fun. My youngest daughter recently discovered model making and loves to assemble and paint them, so the Easter Bunny will be leaving her a *"Rodan"* model to build along with candy and other assorted things. Since our closest relative is about a 1,000 miles away, well be smoking a ham on the Big Green Egg and having a quiet dinner at home after mass. What are your plans for the Easter Holiday?

Matter of fact, every year I see candy sprouting madly at the Duane Reade and it takes me a minute to figure out what holiday is coming. Of course, the day after Easter, I head to those candy aisles looking for a good deal on 'peeps.'

The TIFF Lightbox theatre is currently having a festival of anime films by Studio Ghibli and we'll be seeing Princess Mononoke on Good Friday and Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind on Easter. Then Monday night I'm off to draft players for a yearly NHL Playoff pool that I'm involved in. It isn't all monster movies and extreme horror films.

Apr 4 12 2:17 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	My daughters and their kids come over on Good Friday evening to dye eggs every year and my wife prepares a sort "pre-Easter" dinner which is usually pretty elaborate. Sunday's going to be a busy day. 3 church services in the morning (I am an "official" greeter at my church), then my daughters and their families will return for our giant Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza. About mid-afternoon we'll have dinner (a traditional ham and along with prime rib - I think). This year, we've invited my brothers and their families along with the mother-in-laws of my oldest daughter and my younger brother - both widows. My dad - a widower - gets upset whenever we invite those 2 senior women for holiday gatherings because he thinks we're trying to hook him up. He wishes!

Up in the AM for church(and they go to a huge church, so they have this big-drama play). Then probably a ham late lunch with them and my bro/sis in law and my nephew. Nothing crazy, just the usual celebrating of the end of sin and death. He is risen!

Brother is probably coming from Anaheim (he lives in Vegas but is catching the Angels' Opening Day) and we are going to stuff our faces! Also, be prepared for a lot of Dwight Frye spam on Easter Sunday, as I gave him up for Lent and the withdrawals have been KILLING me! He's not as easy to give up as Laurel & Hardy were last year. They were a cinch. Dwight, not so much. Why don't you do something to help me? The Psycho Ward's Classic Film Reviews - request a film to be reviewed!

Apr 5 12 7:17 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The fun starts today, driving to hear College Daughter's clarinet recital this afternoon, after just having called lil' sis in "sick" for her last half day of school (ain't I a stinker?). We'll leave her there for a night in the dorm w/big sis, then return tomorrow to get 'em both home for Good Friday Fish Fry (yum). After that, it's church, church and ... ummm... church -- the kid's been asked to play trumpet with the organ and choir at the Easter Vigil on Saturday night (a cool service in the dark where all the townspeople get to hold little flames, just like in Vasaria), and last night at rehearsal she agreed to do both Sunday morning Masses too. After all that churchin', it's off to the wife's sister's, where she'll entertain her Polish in-laws with delicious ethnic cuisine that I can't begin to spell or pronounce (Dyngus Day is big around here). Eventually it's back on the road to return College Daughter to school (no vacay, they had their Spring break weeks ago). Then it's home again and back to the grind. (whew) If I thought I could work a nice hangover in there someplace I might seriously consider it. HAPPY EASTER to all!

I was surprised and I went . I'm not religious but it it didn't feel right, and it still doesn't. Sorry, it's just how I feel. Hope you Guys and Gals have a fine weekend. I will after Friday. The yellow and pink peeps were $1.79 a box. The green and orange peeps were only $1.69!!! What's up with that? I say all little green men and all Orange Crush fans should march on Duane Reade!
