Apr 3 12 7:38 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Crabmonster, though unofficial, a few of us have been meeting up on Saturday evenings at 10pm EST for Svengoolie, which airs on Me-TV. We don't meet every week, and may not this coming week, but the week after, April 14, Svengoolie is airing DRACULA (1931), and we talked about possibly meeting then. Anyone/everyone is certainly invited and welcome!

Apr 5 12 4:47 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	After missing one of the recent chats, I bought an antenna (and a prayer) to see if I could get Me-TV from Connecticut. Unfortunately, even with a roof antenna and no tall buildings around, it's listed as requiring extreme measures, not to mention multiple competing channels. I believe that translates in apartmentese into forget about it. OTOH, so far, I have most of these on DVD. So put me down as a definite maybe. Guide to Resources on CHFB

And there was the notorious simul-chat during the Syfy Channel's premiere of SHARKTOPUS (whew...). A weekly on-line Svengoolie viewing party is certainly doable. GARY L. Morning, for those morning folks out there, at 7:30am or 9:15am, for a double feature of YOU'LL FIND OUT and ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN on TCM. Not sure what an alternative might be just know that when I constantly see Svengoolie mentioned I totally lose interest.

Lots of folk join in who don't get Svengoolie, and depending on the movie, either watch a DVD or a clip online somewhere. We've had fun. Everyone's welcome. The board seems pretty open. If these aren't your cup of tea, feel free to generate some interest in some other chat ideas. I'm game for sure. Maybe a film of the week that most of us have on DVD or something? What this does, for me, anyway, on a personal level, is to be able to share some of the great (and sometimes not so great, but fun anyway) films that I enjoyed throughout my life, from a young boy. And do it while they are on TV, the old fashioned way. Since Svengoolie is a host I get, that's why I've focused on that, or on TCM which is also mentioned for those early birds this Saturday. I never was able to share my passion and love for these films with anyone in my personal life, so I get a real thrill from being able to do so with a community of folks here, both on the boards, and now, in chat, while watching a film together. I really love this board, and the community of folks here!
