Ed Kelleher and...Harriette Vidal?

Apr 3 12 2:15 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Mr. Kelleher (whom "cheese" fans know from INVASION OF THE BLOOD FARMERS and SHRIEK OF THE MUTILATED) cowrote several novels with a "Harriette Vidal" back in the mid- to late-'80s and early '90s. After his passing, she apparently never wrote again, at least under that name. Does anyone have any information on who she was, or what became of her?

Apr 10 12 11:25 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Much as 'Harriette Vidal' looks like it could be a pseudonym, I believe it's her real name. It's certainly supported by a birth certificate in NYC, and shows up in documents across several decades in the New York area. What little I could turn up at least led me to see how Vidal and Kelleher might have crossed paths: they were both involved in theatre workshops and in staging and writing plays in New York during the mid-1970s, and they both went on to become music publicists, with Kelleher working at CBS Records and becoming the publicist for Melanie (Safka) while Vidal was employed by the Howard Bloom Organization and served as a publicist for Prince. Matt Schudel's obituary to Ed Kelleher in The Washington Post referred to Kelleher and Vidal 'working side-by-side on adjoining typewriters' to turn out their novels. Beyond that, all I can add is that Vidal still seems to be living in NYC to this day.

May 25 12 11:49 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	As I recall, one those novels, PRIME EVIL, served as the basis for, or was somehow connected to, the film made by Roberta Findlay in the 1980s -- Findlay had previously worked on Kelleher's two previous cinematic endeavors.
