My wonderful Monster Kid daughter, Jennifer Fox, helped get me drawing again some years ago, and I could not have shared a single piece without her help. I thank my great friend, Rob (Dr. Spyclops) for getting screen grabs for me to work from for my THRILLER series and for all the support over the years. And I thank artist and friend Woody Welch who got me started with acrylics by sending me paints, brushes and more. A special thanks to David Colton! And a request..... Thanks to Video Watchdog and the Frankensteinia site, I actually changed my vote for the best one. I'd strongly encourage the nominees to post, since it might encourage pople to find their mags!

Spoken like a true champ, ZD. I know we both share the belief that The Linda Miller Award for Best Fan Artist should ideally be one that's given to a new recipient each and every year. As you've suggested, there are so many budding artists out there who could use the prestige of a Rondo win to take them to the next level in their developing careers. I'm remembering what others have said about Linda's incredibly generous nature and somehow, it seems particularly apt that we haven't had a repeat winner yet in her category. The voters keep getting it right. It should be an award that's continually passed on and on, from one talented hand to another. Now, not every fan artist can produce the level of eye-poppin' work that warrants such recognition but each individual that has that kind of skill, definitely deserves their time to shine. And this year, no one deserved it more richly than you, Rog. Congratulations!

Apr 3 12 3:54 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Congrats to all the winners! However, I'm especially happy that Miss Julie Adams won a special Rondo! I phoned her today and passed along the good news to her, and described to her in graphic detail exactly who Rondo Hatton was and why he's so important. She felt thrilled and honored and is excited about already planning to be at Wonderfest this year. I told her that when she gets back, she and I will do lunch with our two Rondos, seat them at the opposite ends of the table, and when the waiter comes with the check, we will point to one of the Rondos (probably hers) and say, "He's picking up the check." Will post photos if and when that happens. Thanks to David and company for recognizing her in this wonderful fashion. Now when I do my presentation on her at Monsterpalooza I can introduce her as "Rondo Award-winning Julie Adams!'

I'll try though: Thrilled! Happy! Honoured! This award means a lot to me. Gives me faith, motivation, power! to go on with what I've started. Thank you very, very much! As I understand, this "International Fan" category is a brand new one. That means I'm pioneering in the history of the Rondos! LOL! - I think it's a great idea to make the Rondo Awards international. "Monster Kids of The World, Unite!" I appreciate it and I promise that I will do my best in spreading the word around the world. At the moment all I want is to build an Empire State Building in Hungary to smash biplanes from the top of it. I'm afraid we won't meet in Louisville. I don't think I can make it. Apr 3 12 8:00 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Woke up this morning to a surprise congratulatory e-mail from my old friend Steve Vertlieb informing me about the results of this year's Rondo awards. As I told Steve, I was deeply moved and very grateful to learn that thanks to a momentary lapse of reason on the part of all who voted, I now find myself in the company of the much more deserving inductees into the Monster Kid Hall of Fame. My thanks to David Colton, and especially to Dick Klemensen and Bob Tinnell, both of whom honored PHOTON this past year with Dick's fanzine history article in LITTLE SHOPPE OF HORRORS and Bob's forthcoming documentary on fandom. And, of course, thanks to PHOTON's great writers and artists who really deserve all the praise. I appreciate this more than you know. Thank you all. Mark Frank
