Feb 29 12 11:05 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Well, guys, we can finally see my Mondo Cult Forum brother - and one hell of a nice guy, I might add - Bill Selby's cover for Famous Monsters of Filmland #192 right where it belongs... on the cover of Famous Monsters of Filmland #192. I was still reading FM (and many others) when it went belly up and although I had had it up to here (pointing to my nether regions) with Star Wars coverage and covers, I still missed what would/could have been. Hats off to Phil Kim (full disclosure: one of my bosses) for making this happen. And, Bill, I'm always glad to see your work grace the cover of FM - even if this one took almost 30 years. I hope the editors for this issue are able to locate some of the originaly copy written by Randy Palmer and others to include in this issue.

Wow! I also have a short remembrance of Vincent Price in the new MONSTERS FROM THE VAULT (along with other writers), so I'm a happy monster kid indeed. david

We're all really pleased with how this issue turned out, and that we were able to assemble such a great team, including David, to help us put this together. Mar 6 12 9:42 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Getting this issue will be bitter-sweet for me. It reminds me of the demise of the original FM in early 1983. I remember seeing the add in issue 191 for the 25th anniversery special, and looking forward to it. But, of course, Warren went under. No announcement, nothing. Just a slow realization that all the Warren mags would not be coming out any more. It ended not with a bang, but a whimper. I will still enjoy 192. I read an article somewhere (I think it was Scary Monsters) about Randy Palmer's plans for issue 192 back in '83. Hopefully some of these articles can be resurrected. Anyway, kudos to the new Fm for doing this.

The reproduction of the interior photos is TERRIBLE (way too dark), much worse than was ever the case in the original FM. However, the articles look good and I look forward to reading it. However, my copy of FM #191 is dated March 1983?, so with all this time travel, chuckle, how does #192 end up being cover dated February 1983......also, too bad on the previous poster comments of very dark photo reproduction in #192. Sounds like the same very dark photos as in #70. Aren't there publisher proofs anymore? Does anyone check this stuff before going to print? Hats off to PK for trying to fill our dark little hearts, but I wish it was with higher quality filler:)

Mar 25 12 6:50 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	They should have duplicated the magazine down to the same type of paper they used back in 1983. I love the cover too but I doubt the if Warren did not go under, that FM #192 would have looked as good as what Phil Kim offers.
