Feb 4 12 5:23 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	When restoring e.g. The Lone Ranger (1938), we can see that there is embedded subtitles and the print can be very bad, but could you not go to the feature version of the serial and take some footage from that? King of the Mounties also came to mind, wouldn't the feature version have some of the missing dialogue?

Feb 4 12 11:34 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The Squadron's restoration of THE LONE RANGER used a French dubbed print that is superior to the Spanish subtitled one we have seen for the last 35 years, and took the English sound track from the latter and put them together. I did see one restoration that used sequences from the serial and the feature version, and it was jarring to see picture quality change from scene to scene. Besides the feature version, HI YO SILVER had a different music score in some places. The embedded subtitles were in THE LONE RANGER RIDES AGAIN. As far as we know, that is from the only known print in existence. As for KING OF THE MOUNTIES, there was no feature version of that serial. Remember, you can always trust Honest Pa Stark
