Feb 1 12 4:24 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Must Apologise if this has been touched on before, But I seem to remember seeing the now missing scene of the Kong vs T-rex/Allosaurus fight, where Kong puts a tree in the mouth of the T-rex. It was on British T.V. back in the late 60's early 70's on Mad Movies, or a show like it. Does anyone know if this footage still exists, and if so why has it not been shown since? What I do remember about this shot is it was from a different angle to the Photo....

Feb 1 12 8:46 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I think it's like the spider pit scene, we have seen the pics for so long, and so long ago, some folks think they remember seeing the footage in the film. The T-Rex in the picture I think is from a publicity still from "Creation", with the Triceratops or some other animal, and the Kong shot is a publicity still when Kong is clinging to the side of Skull Mountain. They just cut out the figures and pasted them together, very nicely I might add. Tim

I do have a memory of the clip shown on The T.V. show, and a kid I knocked about with also saw it as we used to talk about it. This was before I'd ever seen the film in full. It was most definitely not from King Kong Vs Godzilla. If it's a memory thing it sure seems real, maybe there was a still shown before the fight clip....!!! I do know Bob's family have the Mad Movies episodes on tape, they are the only place with them as the episodes were all wiped by the T.V. station. I'm most curious for them to be released, and more so now, as if anyone has a missing clip from a monster movie it would be Bob Monkhouse...

Feb 2 12 1:25 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Good call on the paste-ups -- no wonder the Kong face looks so familiar and the T-rex looks so unfamiliar. Yeah, subliminal memory is a tricky thing. The still pose is real similar to when Kong pulls the jaws apart, and that particular still was seen everywhere when I was growing up.

Feb 2 12 5:02 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I always felt that the above paste-up was superior to anything I ever saw in the finished movie [as good as it was]: in those pre-VCR days, I never realized that these pasteups were simply publicity montages, I honestly thought they were frames from the actual movie------I was most disappointed when the above image never appeared onscreen during my first proper KONG '33 viewing....... I know what you mean Bobzilla, my personal favorite Kong models are the first appearance/Elasmosaur fight/Train scene Kong, the lair/village destruction, and Empire State Building Kongs. Not right or wrong, just my opinion. Here is another shot, that was then pasted up to form a publicity pic. Sorry about the bad quality of the first still. Feb 10 12 3:51 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Here are two that don't quite match, but Kong is in the right position, and his face matches, the camera angle is a bit off, but I'm sure this is where the paste up came from. And here are a few, again they are not quite right, position is a little off, but I think that I have just not found the right picture yet. The second picture is a paste up. I think the T-Rex, and Styracosaur pics were taken for "CREATION". Not that this has anything to do with the Kong / T-Rex fight, it's just interesting. The Stegosaur is in roughly the same pose as the shot posted above, different camera angler, so that might have come from that same jungle shoot. Tim Last Edited By: Tim Smyth Feb 10 12 4:00 PM. As a kid, I remember seeing that image and wondering why I never saw the styracosaur in Kong. I was glad he showed up in SOK. I always thought that styracosaur was a lot better looking than Ray's in Gwangi. But, Gwangi's allosaur was one of the best of all of Ray's puppets.

While we're at it, do you (or anyone else) know the original source for this familiar paste-up? I had this poster on my wall when I was a kid and always wondered what the original photo looked like. Also, is that actually Fay Wray or a model specifically hired for the shoot in Kong's paw?

Feb 13 12 1:39 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Thanks Dr, Cyclops, but it really wasn't detective work, I was shown great prints of all these stills, as well as the actual paste ups, which were wonderful by the way. I do not remember off hand what still this actually came from, perhaps Kong in the jungle next to the cliff, where they shot the two Kongs next to each other, but I will try to find out. I do know that this paste up is from two different Kong pics, the top half of Kong from one, the bottom half of Kong from another. You can see where the bottom half seems a little bit out of joint in this one. This also looks like Kong #1 from what we can tell from therecently discovered photo. Judging from the Kong models in these pics, I think that these were probably all taken in a very short span of time, maybe a sitting or two, after the initial test reel but very early in the production of the film. Feb 13 12 2:54 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Sorry about that Gaira, I guess it wasn't that recent anymore but here it is. It shows the two Kong models that we think were in the log scene. The one on the left was most likely made for the test reel, the one on the right a double to help out for the rest of the film. They measure 22", and 20", so much for having two 18" Kong models. The one on the left also looks like the model from Kong overlooking the city as well as the rest of the pictures, except Kong and the Stegosaur, that looks like Kong on the right.
