Carrol Naish) or COLONEL MARCH OF SCOTLAND YARD (Boris Karloff), which were also produced in Britain but syndicated in the US. As for John Carradine, RTV showed IRONSIDE and EMERGENCY, which he appeared on, but why doesn't anybody air STARSKY AND HUTCH? The feature remake was only a few years back.

Apr 24 12 5:54 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I spotted a young Walter "Mr. Chekov" Koenig and his pre-TREK pompadour on THE UNTOUCHABLES last night, as a nameless college kid. In it for like 2 seconds, he maybe had one line, if that. A future TIGER BEAT heartthrob on the way up. Unfortunately, his scene wasn't with guest star Robert Redford, looking remarkably like he did in THE STING. Speaking of TIGER BEAT heartthrobs, earlier in the afternoon teen fave Mickey Dolenz played a third string henchman on CANNON, the kind of nondescript gang member Leo Gorcey's little brother David used to play. How the mighty had fallen in just a few short years.

But when I go to the guide to record it, the listing for this week just reads: "This Island Earth" from 10-12. Is that his show or a host-less movie? Sven tends to run the flix uncut and mainly uninterrupted, by him --with his smart retorts held in check 'till the commercial breaks. When a film runs extra long, he just does less schtick. Record for posterity, or hang out in the Blind Hermit's Hut and catch it with some o' the gang. He's got access to the Uni Package, so next week it'll be CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON. Enjoy, brother!

It was nice to be able to watch Elvira again last year, even though it only ran one season. Penny Dreadful airs in CT - where I spent roughly my first 30 years - but not down in FL where I'm trying to live the second 30. I guess Wolfman Mac is pretty popular in the Mich. area but being able to watch Svengoolie now is filling me with delight. You're always right there with the info, Hal. Once again, I thank you. Apr 29 12 1:12 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Don't know whether this is the correct thread for this query, but if any of you have been watching/recording Batman on this channel, have you been able to determine if the episode prints are uncut? I taped the Tallulah Bankhead Black Widow shows off a broadcast some years ago (I'm forgetting which channel was running it then) and a friend told me that the episode was missing a scene where Aunt Harriet goes to her bank wearing a black pantsuit and someone tries to arrest her because they think she's the Black Widow. I remember a Catwoman episode where Lesley Gore's song got cut as well--only part of the performance had survived in the version I taped. Very annoying. Seems as if Hell is going to freeze over before this series is ever issued in any format. Thanks for your thoughts. H.

Apr 29 12 1:22 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Each episode has been running 22-23 minutes without commercials, so they do appear to be missing at least a couple of minutes' worth of material. I wouldn't be completely surprised if certain scenes have been sped up to save on time as well. (They were running some episodes of WILD, WILD WEST recently sped up in such a manner.) I've been recording them every week and burning them to DVD-R anyway, as it's the first time I've had a chance to record them with Closed-Captioning. (I'm sure a legit release would have such, but since that appears to be a pipe-dream, I might as well get these while I can!) BTW, they have at least been following the correct running over since starting with Episode One many, many weeks ago. The only exception was the Van Johnson two-parter, which would have appeared the weekend ME-TV aired their Green Hornet marathon, and instead of going back to it, they skipped over it completely in the running.

It's so great that they run this show, which is either a series of shorts, or one or more of their short features, along with some background material on some of the lesser known cast members who appear in many of their shorts. This morning they are airing THE MUSIC BOX, the colourized version. As I mentioned before, I don't usually like the colorization, but somehow watching this is ok with me and feels "fresh". I'm looking forward to what else they might show on this morning's episode. It's 90 minutes, so it's great.

Watching the uncut bootleg DVD-r of Egghead, my original 1989 broadcast went straight to the credits from Vincent Price's 'egg-zit' (exit) from the museum. Edward Everett Horton truly stole that one as Chief Screaming Chicken, the last of the Mohicans ("you no Indian giver?").

Apr 29 12 8:56 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Last week, ME-TV's hour long double bill of THE REBEL included the episode "The Hunted," which paired Leonard Nimoy and Arlene Martel a full 7 years before they played Mr. and Mrs. Spock (T'Pring) in the STAR TREK classic "Amok Time." My local affiliate (Pittsburgh's channel 11) has been preempting the first airing each week for a worthless half hour infomercial, so I've been getting shortchanged every week. Always enjoyed Nick Adams from his Japanese monster films, plus starring opposite Darren McGavin in "Mission Mars," and Boris Karloff in "Die, Monster, Die!" Sure hope Encore's Western channel picks up THE REBEL next year, when HAVE GUN-WILL TRAVEL will be put out to pasture. Still waiting for two later WAGON TRAIN episodes that were passed over to return to the first season, one with Lon Chaney (The Chalice), the other with David Carradine (The Eli Bancroft Story).
