Then again, Dennis Patrick was also the movie Sheriff Patterson (weird). So either way you slice it, a little taste of Collinwood on the Left Coast.

Apr 18 12 7:10 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Darn, I noticed this change too. I am sorry to see it go, I was also digging it, Hal. It was kind of low-key in a way, but had an edge to it as well, which I enjoyed. I thought there was some decent effects work as well, given the probable low-budget and the time it was produced. I don't begrudge anyone their MASH, but it's out of place for it to show up between COLUMBO and the rest of the Sunday Noir lineup. I wonder what happened with the contract? Me-TV doesn't usually give up on shows that quickly, maybe there was some contractual issue that arose, who knows. Visiting their website, this was not announced there with the rest of their lineup changes, and they usually do so on their site. Bummer. Well, I hope they find something else if they can't get this one back, that is better than MASH. I don't really like MASH much, and don't watch it, but I know a lot of folks do, but I will say it's on more than enough. If they're going to air an out of place show in that slot, I'd prefer they bring back GOMER PYLE!

I've seen them enough, and they show it the rest of the week, why show it on Sundays? I'd like to see The Time Tunnel or something. I like the way when he's invisible and accidentally bumps into his sister or something, she always makes a point of mentioning that he's wearing the invisible lab clothes from his accident. Wouldn't want anyone picturing him otherwise .

Though they do re-cycle through other series on there without a problem, but if only 13 episodes or something, maybe that's all they bought, a one time showing. About the lab coat, yeah, convenient way to keep it "clean" for the television crowd of the day. I wasn't buyin' it though.

And if they did, how expensive ould it be to get the rights to the entire 26 episode run? Maybe they can get the rights to Robin Hood. There is a good number of episodes of those.

Apr 19 12 6:24 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I love Peter Gunn with the weird angles and expressionist sets run amuck. The episodes are a mixed bag, some are great, some don't make a whole lot of sense, but it is only a half hour, moves fast, and it is one of the most stylish television shows I have ever seen. Gumshoe Gunn relies too much on stoolies to solve his cases like pool shark Billy Barty, his gf isn't really a great jazz singer, and Lieutenant Jacoby even by film noir standards is pretty dim, but so what? The show is a hoot. Poor Gunn gets the hell beaten out of him every episode and that hot babe married to an old man he is always running into is always up to no good.

Apr 19 12 8:26 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Couldn't have said it better, Will, you summed up PETER GUNN very well. I enjoy it, and as you say, it's only a half hour. Love the moody feel of the show, the plots could have been better or more creative at times, but again, I enjoy it on its own terms. I never even heard of THE ROGUES before they started showing up on Me-TV, but I'm hooked! It was only on for one season and I can see they are recycling through the episodes already, but there are a few I missed the first go-round.

I kept expecting him to burst into song shouting, "Succeed!" And saw "Pigeons from Hell" on Thriller. And one of the best Peter Gunns if you can accept the surprise revelation. I thought it was fine. I don't expect neorealism from Gunn. The episode with the man who kills his wives.

Apr 23 12 4:59 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I thought "Pigeons From Hell" was excellent! I had nodded off and woke up about 10 min in and wow, it really gripped me the entire time! I like to watch most Me-TV on DVR so that I can FF through the ads, but I just couldn't look away from this episode, and sat impatiently through the ad breaks. Excellent episode!
