Dec 22 11 4:31 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I searched for a thread on this movie and found nothing, so sorry if something on this has been posted some where else. This is the first I've heard of them doing a sequel; I'm not on top of what's being made or in the works, so I'm usually the one of the last to know that something is coming out. I'm kind of surprised that they are doing a sequel. Does anybody know if the box office take was good enough to warrant one? I saw the 2010 version on DVD and was not impressed at all. If fact, I thought it stunk. I don't know what to think. The trailer for WOTT looked alright and the plot synopsis sounded pretty cool as well. Plus, they can't go wrong with changing the director and screenwriters. Still, I have a nagging feeling that they'll find some way to mess this up as well.

Dec 30 11 10:36 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I had no idea the original CLASH was considered a "classic." I saw it in the theater when it came out, and I loved it. The thing is, I loved it because I thought I was supposed to. The whole Harryhausen thing made me just feel like it would be plain and simply wrong to dislike it. Upon revisiting it soon after seeing it in the theater and seeing it on video, I realized the film was a bore. As for the remake, it was more exciting, but also quite souless. Dec 30 11 11:45 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I saw this trailer a week or so ago online and wanted to claw my eyes out afterwards. This looks terrible. Like an add for the new God of War video game. There's a big standee - like the one for the first dreadful film - at my local theater with a bunch of the monsters on it. All them are CG and look ugly and fake, especially the Chimera which doesn't even look like a Chimera at all but rather like some kind of mutant two headed griffin. The only one that doesn't appear to be CG - it shows - in the Minotaur which still looks like no Minotaur I've ever seen. It looks like the creature from The Unnamable (1988). Seriously, screw this movie. And this is from Legendary Pictures too. The folks I'm suppose to be trusting to help reboot the Godzilla franchise. Heaven help us.... Dec 31 11 11:06 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	That's supposed to be a Chimera in the trailer? Ughhhh,I couldn't tell what that mess was. The Chimera is one of my favorite mythological beasts since I was a kid and a monster that bizarre is tailor made to be rendered with CGI...too bad nobody bothered to look at some reference. Too bad. I really hate when a trailer for a film set in some ancient age uses modern rock music as background music. It sets no sort of mood at all and seems aimed solely at dragging 15 year olds into the theater with promises of "badass action,dude".

It wasn't very good at all and offered further proof that that era of film making was over. The remake was far from a classic as well but I liked it marginally more than the original.

Here is the Chimera from Wrath of the Titans.... In addition apparently some early promotion materiel for the movie is describing the Chimera as "a two headed-goat that breaths fire". Apparently they couldn't be bothered to look up what a Chimera looks like or what it is.....Sigh

Everything i see in movies now is so uninspired and boring,it looks like they just took the very first design that came across the CGI departments desk. It's like you get paid to not even try!!

It's more like they pick the design that will cost the least to render in CG since it's so f-ing expensive. There was an article on io9 recently about how some really well known and talented artists were hired by DC to design Parallax for the Green Lantern movie and turned in some really stunning original designs.... which were then all rejected due to being too complex. Who would have imagined that in the world of CGI monster design, less complex and creative looking creatures would actually be the result as oppose to back in the day when monsters were brought to life using foam rubber, stop motion and men-in-suits.

THe only part of the first one I liked was the scorpion fight, which was entertaining, aside from that it was boring and bad. I'll probably see this only because my movie rule is that I'll wtach anything with monsters, aliens or ghosts in it, but this is a "wait for rental" for me.
