Unless you're just talking about Universal stuff? Their BLACK CAT & RAVEN DVDs don't look any better than ours, but at least they aren't DVD 18s'.

Woulda been great if they'd set a release date at the beginning of the hot season, so I could inaugurate it with Jaws which I do annually.Edit: I just realized the Drac image says dvd on it. I was assuming this was a first glance at the Blu artwork.

Life with a toddler, you know...It's a solid upgrade for sure and I've never seen the film look better. All in all, I'm going to fold my arms and declaim that this is the last I will ever buy this movie. Now, I did object just a little to that optical pan-in on Mayella (sp?) being de-noised that they've been touting, but I don't know that it would have bothered me had I not seen that 'restoring the classics' video. If you love this movie, I would unhesitatingly upgrade.

That would definitely be a value-added extra, and I'd probably pick up the Blu for that reason alone. They already did this for the featurette included on the older DVD. Apparently not enough of it is in printable condition. For many years we were led to believe that FRANKENSTEIN's missing footage was non-existant, then it mysteriously turned up in a VHS restoration back in 1986/87. I will bet the farm that the DRACULA epilogue shows up complete and in pristine condition, just in time for DRACULA'S Blu-ray debut later this year. It would be just like UNIVERSAL to have sat on it all these years in anticipation of something special for their 100th Anniversary Blu-ray release. In fact, I will go so far as to say that I believe the silent cut will also be included as an extra. My only problem is, what will they do next for DRACULA's 100th anniversary?

Seems the others will have to wait. I personally find it incredibly silly that the Mexican DRACULA is being discussed in the same league with the others, and THE MUMMY, WOLFMAN, and INVISIBLE MAN are not. Heck, even the FRANK and DRAC sequels should be in here. I think the Mexi-DRAC should be included with the Lugosi DRAC, but as it's always been -- an extra.
