But there are other examples where I sure am a "completist". And I make no apologies for that. Some examples for me are owning every Bela Lugosi and Boris karloff horror-themed movie they each did, regardless of their quality. There are people who are collectors and like to have everything in a series. I don't think it makes them "idiots". If they're not harming anyone else and it makes them happy and satisfied in collecting something just for the pride of ownership, there's nothing wrong with it.
