It is by no means a thinking mans film and it's hardly a film watched for the story or characters, but I found it very enjoyable and is something I'll be getting on DVD. Sure it was Call Of Duty: Alien Warfare, but is that really such a bad thing?

Who would ahve thought. I thought it was good and certainly FAR better than the overatted and pointless War of the Worlds by Spielberg.

Surprisingly, it was so well done that the lack of real story and script didn't matter at all. Don't get me started on Michelle Rodriguez or I'll have to excuse myself for a few minutes.

Truth be told, it's really short (I actually checked the time once) and you have...actually it wouldn't mess with the later internal conflict later (although some references might not make sense/spring out of nowhere). This actually seems like an interesting idea to try out.. I mean even the Lt's preg wife being cut wouldn't change much. May 9 12 11:25 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	gfan, I think that the cut back the marine base was a bad move, after the picture open with the attack. I would have simply had the film be about that specific battle, and the dialogue would have let the audience understand the backstory issues the characters had going. The film suffers from starting with the mysterious explosions and then going into the rap music and backstory, which I thought was silly at times. I would have opened the picture the same way, then cut to the marines watching the TV feed and gearing up, going into battle and have the exposition tell us more about thee guys as the picture went along. Would have made a tighter, more intense story.

It's a damned sight better than Skyline, certainly.

A bit overbearing on the blue/orange color palette (as is the present trend with many films - hope it doesn't continue). And the film felt like it had only two speeds - ultra fast or creeping slow. "Sgt. Rock Saves LA" is an apt description.
