On DVD Beaver, under the title Horror of Dracula --- they mention the Classic Horror Film Board --- I am just reporting what I saw on DVD Beaver.

As for the first staking in Horror of Dracula -- there is a difference of opinion between myself & some members about what was cut.  I hope you accept that HOD was cut?   Once you accept the film was cut, now all you need do is figure out WHAT was cut.  And it is easy to do simply by LOOKING at whats there.  Now I will admit the people are clever who cut these movies but in this case they give you solid evidence.  For example:  Harker has got stakes & a hammer & a female vampire sleeping...........  RIGHT?  and a very short time later
you have Harker & the lady has a stake in her heart & has got old........  Now all you need to figure out what got cut was HOW did this woman grow old?  & I'm telling you thru time lapse photography the woman grew old!  I saw it & the footage supports it.  End of story.

That other thread is too long.  I just want to say how easy it is to misunderstand somebody based on reading something.  As compared to say talking on the phone.  You can tell very easily if a person is joking or sarcastic etc.  Not so easy by reading. 

I saw only 3 Hammer movies as a kid.   HOD,  Hound of the Baskervilles & Phantom of the Opera.  This was due to the high prices they charged.  Over the years I have collected a few off tv.  I have not bought any dvds.  In the 60's Hammer pix began turning up on tv in special edited tv versions.  Kiss of Evil, To Love a Vampire.  If you saw these tv versions they give you a good idea on the way the studios treated them & the way the studios thought of their fans.  Contempt.  Hammer pictures were made entirely outside of Hollywood control & have ideas & things Hollywood did not like.  When I say Hollywood, I mean in the 60's the dinosaurs which were swallowed up by corporations used to be studios that became releasing agents for Hammer.  United Artists, Columbia, Universal & WB mostly. These studios were used to being Boss over the world but England had after WWII became its equal in many ways & its superior in others.  Hammer set up a mood then sometimes used shock effects like a stabbing.  Hollywood cut out the effect leaving nothing in its place.  That is why I don't bother buying the dvds.  The shock effects are missing. 
 Kiss of Evil was a sort of secret society of vampires & devil worshippers --- an important Hammer movie.  Its was unavailable until the late 80's.  Phantom of the Opera was another important Hammer film.  For once, Hammer got right the true meaning of why a man would haunt an opera house that other versions missed.  Somebody stole his music & was making money off it.  I only like Kiss of the Vampire, HOD, Phantom of the Opera, Brides of Dracula, Hound of the Baskervilles & Revenge of Frankenstein.  The rest I can do without.
