1966's RUN PSYCHO RUN (some sources give 1968), starring American Gary Merrill, is an obscure Italian title ("Piu Tardi Claire, Piu Tardi...") that aired twice on Pittsburgh's CHILLER THEATER, on March 28 1970 (with Karloff's THE BLACK ROOM) and June 26 1971 (with Roger Corman's MONSTER FROM THE OCEAN FLOOR). I myself was too young to have caught it at the time, and it now appears to be a lost film. Another film that may have slipped under the radar is 1957's GHOST DIVER, starring James Craig, which aired just once, before I was born, on January 12 1964 (with 1959's THE ATOMIC SUBMARINE). I have later, similar Italian titles featuring American stars, such as MARTA (1971, Stephen Boyd, Marisa Mell) and DEBORAH (1974, Bradford Dillman, Gig Young). Others I'm looking for include 1964's EDGE OF FEAR, early Spanish horror from director Leon Klimovsky, 1963's ESCAPE FROM HELL ISLAND, directed by and starring Mark Stevens, 1962's British FOG FOR A KILLER (aka OUT OF THE FOG, directed by Montgomery Tully), 1964's Italian THE FLYING SAUCER ("Il Disco Volante," directed by Tinto Brass, starring Alberto Sordi), 1963's OSS 117 MISSION FOR A KILLER ("Furia a Bahia pour OSS 117," directed by Andre Hunebelle), starring Frederick Stafford, who later starred in Hitchcock's TOPAZ, 1976's DYNASTY (aka SUPER DRAGON), a 3D feature from Hong Kong, 1976's SURVIVAL (directed by Michael Campus), starring Anne Francis and Barry Sullivan, 1968's TERROR IN THE JUNGLE (directed by Tom De Simone), starring Jimmy Angle, 1974's TILL DEATH (directed by Walter Stocker), starring Belinda Balaski and Keith Atkinson. Also seemingly missing in action are feature versions of past serials: BAT MEN OF AFRICA (1936's DARKEST AFRICA), MISSILE MONSTERS (1950's FLYING DISC MAN FROM MARS), SATAN'S SATELLITES (1952's ZOMBIES OF THE STRATOSPHERE). Obscure non horror titles that aired on CHILLER THEATER included 1952's BATTLE ZONE (John Hodiak), 1956's THE BIGAMIST (Marcello Mastroianni), 1962's CRAZY DESIRE (Ugo Tognazzi), 1956's THE LEATHER SAINT (Cesar Romero, John Derek), 1962's RED CULOTTES (Laurent Terzieff), 1964's A YANK IN VIET-NAM (aka YEAR OF THE TIGER, directed by and starring Marshall Thompson), plus a 1962 documentary about Communism titled WE'LL BURY YOU. Bill Cardille still appears at local MONSTER BASH festivals in Butler Pa, and meeting him remains a cherished memory.
