Unfortunately, the "new" scenes are in Italian only, whereas the other parts are dubbed in English. And there are no English subtitles. Still in all, I am greatly surprised that more fans aren't jumping on this. You would think that this DVD release would be a real high point in Monster Kid Fandom... we've been awaiting the long print for decades! "Guy named Squeamy got thrown from the fifth floor. We've been talking about the 105 minute version here, every package I've seen for the film lists 87 minutes, yet every one of those seems to use a 68 minute cut of the film. The trailer (on the few DVDs that include it) has material not seen in the film (most conspicuous is the leading lady's nightclub act, as all copies of the film I've seen open right after she's finished her act and returned to her dressing room). Never really noticed until watching this over the weekend that there was brief use of stop-motion during that first transformation of the doctor into the monster, when they cut to a close-up and we see a series of dissolves and one of those last dissolves used the animated puppet. (The movement of the hand grasping the throat and the eyes give it away.) It seemed so unlikely they would go to all that trouble for an insert, but then I recall how stop-motion was used for an even briefer sequence of Godzilla kicking Kong in the chest in KING KONG VS. The video sales site "Cinema du Bizarre" is offering a DVD of what they claim is the uncut version of AAV. I am going to order it tonight, and when I have it and have viewed it, I will report back. Jun 27 12 2:00 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	As in duplicate...at best a DVD-r of the official European DVD we talked about above. At worst a DVD-r copy of some old obscure VHS. I'm not familiar with CINEMA DU BIZARRE but they sound like a bootleg outfit like MIDNIGHT VIDEO use to be. I'll check out CDB right now to see what they are.

As long as you know if you buy from them you'll probably get a DVD-r copy in a envelope and no box or art then your fine. As I said earlier, their quality of their ATOM AGE VAMPIRE might be the older print and not the SEDDOK print that's far superior and is circulating on the Internet for free.

Yes, I understood that was the case. And I have ordered from them before. I don't care about packaging. The reason I would take a chance on it is because it is advertised as being uncut. The ones I have seen online are nice prints but have been cut. They rate the picture quality as A-. And they do not under-rate that aspect based on my prior experience, so it must at least be decent.
