I've sort of had two 'encounters' with Kevin Kline. No more than looks exchanged, so I can't speak personally. But your friend's comment, Skelly, pretty much echoes what I've heard. A few years ago I attended a screening of PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION. When I left the theatre, I ran into a friend waiting for the next screening. He knows and has worked with Kline and asked how he was in the movie. I said he was fine. My friend shook his head and said "I'm surprised there's anyone left in the business who'd hire that #%&$($&." Or words to that effect. Still, he's a really fine actor. Sometimes brilliant. And he married well.

He is on his best behavior, and sounds like a wonderful guy you'd want to hang out with.Maybe that really IS acting. And he is talking about pri#k directors....Ha! Wow that Sydney Penny didn't age a bit in the 13 years between Pale Rider and The Faculty, I had thought. But then much to my private embarassment, it wasn't the same girl. And that's how I learned the name Jordana Brewster. True story. Not an interesting one, I admit. But a true story nevertheless.
