Feb 10 11 7:09 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I got my copy as well off TNT....an airing about 10 years ago on that program they used to have late at night, "100% Weird". Actually, it has aired at least twice on it. The first time it aired, probably 15 years ago, I recorded on VHS based totally on it's title, which sounded cool. I knew little about the movie. Unfortunately, my VCR was set on EP speed so the quality was not good at all & didn't track well. Luckily, it aired again about 5 years later, around 2001 or so, and I got a nice SP-recorded copy, which I transferred to DVD-R a couple years ago. I'd love to see another airing so I could get a pristine, 1st-generation copy but I guess the one I have will have to do...especially as I don't see it airing ever again. Damn, I wish TNT still showed those cool, late-night movies. I got quite a few ultra-rare ones that was (Valley of the Dragons, The Three Weird Sisters, The Hypnotic Eye, etc) that have NEVER aired again (although I recently upgraded Hypnotic Eye via the Warner Archives Collection).

Feb 11 11 5:00 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Well, I had the Ken Films 8MM digest version and it simply made no sense to me - the superimposed titles had everybody "lying" to one another. Huh? What were they all lying about? Had to be the longest disintegration scene I'd ever seen, though. Took up darn near a quarter of the 200 foot reel.

Feb 11 11 11:03 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Was it THE VAMPIRE AND THE BALLERINA or THE VAMPIRE AND THE PLAYGIRLS that had scenes of the starlets in extremely flimsy see-through nighties with maybe a lil bit of nudity? It has been so long since I've seen either that I get them a little confused. I do remember seeing OLD DRACULA when it was released in the 70's and thinking it kinda ripped one or the other of these films off. "It's better to have accomplishments remarkable enough to be put in question, than to have no accomplishments at all."

Feb 12 11 7:53 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Both feature rather flimsy nighties - - although in BALLERINA it looks like everyone at least has a bra on underneath, whereas in PLAYGIRLS that doesn't necessarily seem to be the case (even for the "good girl" heroine). PLAYGIRLS also features a vampirized girl walking around naked throughout the latter part of the picture. Usually she's only seen in shadows, but in the uncensored version she's seen bare-breasted.

Yeah, both films had flimsy nighties & other various stages of undress. As grgstv338 pointed out, THE PLAYGIRLS AND THE VAMPIES had actual nudity, although as I said in my first post, the only print I have ever seen is the one off TNT...so if there IS nudity in the movie I am sure it was edited out. But both movies are VERY similar, plot- and atmosphere-wise.

Yes, that is probably the biggest claim to fame for TPATV, the fact that it was a horror movie with actual nudity, made at a time when that was highly unusual. And, of course, the lovely glimpses of Lyla Rocco's secondary sex characteristics through diaphanous lingerie.
