As far as I know, WAJAN isn't known to exist in the 70-minute-long edit which was released in the US during 1938/9. However, the 78-minute-long German-made movie from which all its footage was taken, DIE INSEL DER DÄMONEN (Island of Demons, 1933), does exist, with a restored print having premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in 2003, and subsequently having been shown internationally (including a recent screening at the Lincoln Center: link). The British Film Institute also has a 62-minute-long edit of the film under the title BLACK MAGIC: A STORY OF BALI ISLAND, dating from its 1949/50 British re-release. While the exploitation-minded WAJAN edit obviously made certain changes to the original material, the basic story of Wajan and Sari and their encounters with the witch Léak remains at the core of all three edits. Like all good 1930s horrors, armadillos were also featured.

FWIW, most of the ads I've seen for WAJAN (such as the one below) actually play up the subtitle in larger print than the title, indicating that someone may (quite wisely) have decided that the word 'Wajan' might not hold much power to draw audiences into movie theatres. The US lobby cards and poster likewise don't quite seem to trust the title 'Wajan' alone to sell the movie, announcing the film as 'WAJAN - GREATER THAN "GOONA GOONA".'

As for OBEAH, it seems to be lost, although a couple more articles on the film have turned up in recent years (reports on its shooting in the local Jamaican press, and a few clippings relating to its release in Britain and the British Empire under the title [THE] MYSTERY SHIP). A rumor has long circulated that F. Herrick Herrick's grandson - who has a substantial collection of material relating to his grandfather's artistic and cinematic ventures - might possess a copy of the film, but this seems to be a case of mere wishful thinking.
