Has anyone seen this?
Think of an old dark house mystery with a phantom, secret passages, hidden treasure, sliding panels and a herione in peril about every 5 minutes. And then pace it at a breakneck speed and you have an idea of what this is. The problem is that it goes on for 15 chapters. My advice is to watch the first chapter and then the next about a month or 2 later and skip about 3 or 4 chapters towards the middle. For the flaver of this film, check out the excellent trailer on the Internet Movie Database:

I swear that James (Laurel & Hardy) Horne meant this as a comedy or a send-up of the old dark house or Pearl White-type silent serials. It is, in fact, a re-make of a 1916 serial.
I do have a warning, though. The female lead has one of the most annoying screams ever. And she seems to scream at the drop of a hat. I counted almost 20 screams in one chapter. After a while, you will want to gag her and throw her through a sliding panel yourself!
