Tips
Searching
Yuku search isn't very good. For better searches, use a real search engine.
e.g., using google:
site:monsterkidclassichorrorforum.yuku.com intitle:innocents
site:monsterkidclassichorrorforum.yuku.com topic AND "the innocents"
The site: thing limits queries to pages on CHFB.
intitle:uninvited searches for threads with the word uninvited in the thread title, but it only allows one word. To search for a longer title, you need something to limit the number of hits. I tried "previous topic" and other things on the page, but they don't work, so I use "topic" which yields a lot of extra empty pages. Anyway, if your query matches a thread titles, it gets displayed near the top of the first page no matter what you do.
Creating tables
You can add a table to your post using the html tags TABLE, TR, and TD. But there's a bug in bbcode that puts all the line breaks above the table. The easiest way to work around it is to remove all the newlines and save or preview the table as a single long line of text.
It's actually simpler than that. Since html treats all whitespace the same, all you really need to do is make sure the newline is somewhere inside a cell. You can see what that means by creating a simple table and previewing your post.
Resizing Images in Your Posts
Giant Images and Page Formatting discusses the problems people have with really big images.
While you can scale images when you upload them yourself, you can't always do that when you link to them. Here's my solution. If you just click the box to include the image, you'll need to edit the resulting post just a bit.
You can scale images for the forum. Just include the size in pixels (width X height) in the IMG tag. And this one's actually in the bbcode help page. (The same link that shows up near the Quick Reply box.)
Remove the spaces for it to work in your post. I'm just using spaces so you can read it.
Normal bbcode:[ IMG ] url [ / IMG ]
Scaled bbcode: [ IMG = 300x235 ] url [ / IMG ]
The reason people do the scaling themselves is they can produce a better final image than your web broswer.
Yuku Bugs
After closing a numbered list (started with "list=1" instead of "list"), the text following it is indented. Is there a fix for this?
How to Browse Archived Message Boards
Someone asked if the old CHFB message board was on Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. I tried and failed to find anything, but some of the old Sinister Cinema message board is archived there. Since it's difficult to navigate old websites on the Wayback Machine, I posted my attempt to sort through that message board. It might prove helpful if you want to look around other archived message boards.
