In my late teens/early twenties, I recall one college campus having some sort of sci-fi festival, where someone ran a 16mm reel of STAR TREK bloopers, Max Fleischer Superman cartoons and that pizza promo. Always thought it would be great if it turned up in Super 8, to tack on to one of my trailer reels. They just don't make stuff like that, anymore.

According to Sam Sherman's commentary on the Image DVD release, Darren went on to "have kids and gain a lot of weight", implying she gave up acting; however, IMdB claims Darren continued to appear in filipino productions until very recently. Is this true or is there more than one Eva Darren?

Well, Alpha's BLOOD OF THE VAMPIRES reportedly has additional footage that is not included on the Image disc. Hopefully you didn't actually buy "CURSE OF THE VAMPIRES". Retromedia put the film out under that title in a transfer that is not the greatest. Image's BLOOD OF THE VAMPIRES looks much better. You are probably okay with the Image BLOOD DRINKERS. Check the Horror on DVD folder for additional Blood Island info in the "Alpha picks up Adamson/Sherman features" thread. And whatever you do...don't drink any green blood!

Need to think about this before I hit "puchase" on my Amazon cart. And do I really want to buy the Alpha BRIDES OF BLOOD just for the Beverly Powers interview, which was inexplicably missing on the Image disc? Why did Image put this interview on the BRAIN OF BLOOD DVD? Makes no sense to me.

Anything you get for the Image disc helps to cover the cost of the new Alpha disc. Then you'll have BRIDES plus the Beverly Hills interview.

Actually, it's BLOOD DRINKERS that has 27 amazing minutes of additional (silent) footage (as an extra), not BOTV. Can anyone confirm if the Alpha disc of BOTV actually has extra footage? Watched BOTV last night. Enjoyed it immensely and not as a "guilty pleasure". It really is a fantastic film and very representative of top-notch Filipino horror. It does indeed contain about 8 minutes of footage cut from the original release, with no sound. Why this was left out on the Image release is beyond me and a huge disappointment about an otherwise excellent release.
