My mother handwrote the title in Arabic once, and I still have that paper. The title on the poster looks similar. I'd like to find more info on this, or see the actual film. About the Jekyll/Hyde movie, it was black and white. Very similar in style to Mexican films like The Man and the Monster. It might have been intended as a comedy, but the monster scenes were played straight.

Aug 26 11 8:11 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	In my own surroundings here in Copenhagen, Denmark, and among friends, i am definitely horror expert number one, and then it sometimes happens that i consider myself as a true horror expert, but when i then enter this forum, and ESPECIALLY when i read a thread like this, i come down to earth again!!! Approximately all people here are just SO extremely knowledgeable and intelligent! And the original author of this subject is a TRUE GENIUS! How i envy such a knowledgeable brain! But at least i can learn a bit by reading... Maybe someone would be so kind to help me a bit more by giving a link to the article about Romanian horror? Jan

Aug 26 11 12:03 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Vlad, there are still thousands (literally) of genre movies from around the world which are either completely unknown or have barely been recognized as more than a tiny footnote; I get the feeling that one could start a thread on practically any film-producing nation on Earth and come up with a plentiful list of titles that we probably should all have been aware of already! (And trust me, I have a couple more threads like this one planned - eventually! - along those very lines). Vlad, I feel ya, pal. If you substitute "Jeffersonville, Indiana" for Copenhagen, you have my situation. In my case, it was Walt Lee's Reference Guide arriving in the mail when I was about 20 or 21, that made it clear to me that I had a LOT to learn. And, yes, this place will keep you humble, with Doctor Kiss the Master of reminding us of our ignorance.

And who knows how many more 'treasures' like this are yet to be found?!!

Mar 14 13 11:12 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Here is a quote from Russian Rock musician and video artist Vasily Shumov concerning his music video tribute to Indian/Pakistani horror films: "I recorded a tune called "Spirit of monster Samri" as my homage to the low-budget horror films from the 1980's and 1990's made in India and Pakistan. Producers such as the Ramsay brothers in India made a few low budget films in this genre which was kind of a big deal in India and Pakinstan then. "Those films reminded me in some ways of Ed Wood's films, being self written and self produced on a very low budget. "Here is the video I made with clips from these films. "Also I did a detailed review of these Indian and Pakistani horror trash films in my blog commenting on frames from these types of pictures. This thread seems to have taken on a bit of a life of its own --- and perhaps it's indicative of how few resources have been available on Arabic-language genre works previously that this thread indeed received quite substantial mention in one of the first lengthy articles on locally-made horror movies to appear in the Arab press, No Zombies in Gaza: Horror in Arabic Cinema by journalist Yazan al-Saadi, published last Halloween in the Lebanese broadsheet Al-Akhbar (The News).
