Speaking of Fleischer cartoons, the long montage of Gulliver from the 'Travels' feature being hoisted in elaborate pulleys and ropes systems could have provided the basis for a similar scene hoisting the drugged Kong from the beachfront using elaborate hoists, cogs, etc. The natives could be featured helping with the manpower, etc . Whether the natives would be glad to see the back of Kong, or indeed attack the Venture crew for blatantly stealing  their God has interesting potential.

A raft is obviously mentioned in the '33 movie, but hoisting KONG up into the boat seems a real problemo, without getting the Venture to sink! Maybe they would simply pull him behind on a huge raft, like in King Kong vs. Godzilla.   But that still leaves the problem of feeding and watering him, not to mention keeping him drugged........unless Denham fires harpoon-like drugs into him remotely! It  would be more intruiging having Kong  chained up inside the boat, though.



As I mentioned already, any scenes of Kong being 'kept under wraps' as he is spirited 'unseen' by the public into New York  between unloading at the harbor and getting him backstage on Broadway  represents a major problem.....this is like a MAD Magazine scenario-----  firstly, it's unlikely that Denham would declare Kong to the authorities, so he would have to be smuggled in: do they drug him, wrap him up in tarpaulins with just his feet showing at the bottom, guiding him with massive chains at 3 AM in the morning?    Maybe they load him on a massive truck, but it doesn't seem practical.......maybe  such a sequence would be handled better like a comedy.


Denham also mentions 'we've knocked some of the fight outa him' behind the scenes on Broadway, : how the hell do they do this with a 50-foot ape?! Maybe they prod Kong with massive electrical stinger-prods or something: another scene that has great potential, eliciting further audience sympathy with him,  which would enrage Kong further still, and was never actually shown in the '33 movie.

I really meant getting him through New York un-noticed, sthorntn........KONG was a [reluctant]  illegal immigrant of sorts, and the cops would perhaps take a passing interest as he stomped through 213rd Street on his way to Broadway. A bigger problem than the 'graft' equation, which was worked out by the Egyptians 4000 years ago, by all accounts.

If Kong is spotted by the authorities before he reaches Broadway, it will affect the events in the 1933 film. His cover would be blown, and there would be no Broadway scenes.

So; Kong HAS to be smuggled right into the heart of New York without arousing suspicion, otherwise the patrons seeing Kong unleashed onstage and being astonished  at this unknown phenomenon will not make sense!!!!!

It's a possibility, Damien.....maybe they had articulated trucks in 1933, I don't know much about lorries of the period!
