The Eagles, one of the most reviled bands around, have at least one song that deserves a place at the table of horror rock, and that is the single Hotel California. Yeah, it's apparently an allegory about 70's excesses, but the tale as it unfolds lyrically can be taken as a first rate horror song about a guy who stays at a hotel that he slowly realizes he's the only living guest at and in fact he's trapped in the hotel with the dead. The sound of the tune is creepy too.
