Jul 19 11 8:35 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	@Ted Newsom So far I haven't seen any "Carl is a liar" posts here so I highly doubt any of the comments Carl posted on his blog came from anyone over here and on the other forum I'm involved in there haven't been any comments like that so I doubt anyone from over there is to blaim. I was just saying that we can't assume Carls' a fraud just because other people have lied before. The truth will all come out next year { yeah the poster says 2012 not 2011 } or earlier if Chaney Entertainment makes a statement on it. The thing with the response I got from Jaclynn is that it's kind of one those statements where yes I got a response but I don't know any more than I did before I asked the questions. They could be not saying anything at the moment because they need all the facts to squelch this rumor that the footage has been found when it hasn't OR they could be not saying anything at the moment because they don't have full control of the movie yet and therefore they can't give any information out on the film until they do have full control of it. So I've contacted Chaney Entertainment in the only way I knew how { I checked the site and couldn't find any other way to contact them but knowing my blondeness if the contact information had teeth I wouldn't even be here right now } hoping to get more information and hopefully a square answer about this and I'm back to square one anyways. Also being on their e-newsletter thingie I checked the e-mail address for that newsletter but it's Jacylnns' address so I'm still at square one. @Tim Hammell You'll be waiting a long while since it's not coming out until October of next year and even then it's only at select venues till December. @HalLane Or a Philm Phan's Phlim Phlam? Haha! That made me smile. I keep clicking Carls' youtube username on the bulletin thingie he posted last that still comes up on my youtube home page every once in a while just hoping his channel is back up. le sigh

I really really really want to know the truth NOW and being a pretty impatient person at times when it's something I'm really looking forward to this is going to drive me up the wall after awhile if Chaney Entertainment doesn't make an official statement soon. Dang it! I want a movie theater to stalk! @HalLane! Thanks! I don't know how much I'll be posting on here { I'm more of a Phantom Phan then a horror fan but I do enjoy some of the classic movies like Dracula and etc points at icon }. @everyone watching this thread I don't know how relevant this is to the whole Carl having not proven beyond the shadow of a doubt yet that the footage has been found but I was thinking today that depending on what condition the footage is in at this time even if he did try to release part of it to prove all the naysayers wrong would there really be much there to see? I'm not a huge film connoisseur to the point where I can describe down to the last detail every process that was used in classic films or how well the different types of footage from back then would have held up but I was told that the film used to film Chaney!Phantom tends to fall apart after awhile so Carl might have a lot of restoration work ahead of him before the footage is any kind of presentable to the general public. Just an idea but I try to look at things from every single possible angle before making a conclusion { read: I over think things to the point of insanity } and considering the film isn't being released until October 2012 instead of 2011 apparently there's still a lot of work left to be done. Honestly I think it might not have been in his best interest to start advertising his film so early or at least he should have saved the announcement of lost footage being found and put into the film until closer to its' release date so he wouldn't have any impatient people saying they want proof now or he's lying. Just in my research of him { as limited as it was } I noticed that it seems people either adore Carls' very existence or they wish he'd drop off the end of the earth so he could potentially have his very own group of trolls following him around trying to sabotage all his efforts. I swear if they put the kabosh on Carls' Phantom project and the footage has been found I'm going to clobber each and every one of them!

As for the 3d, no way could it be anything other then a conversion from existing, likely video sourced, materials. And it's in anaglyph. Not holding my breath for a stellar 3d viewing experience. Same goes for the new "Fandub". Interesting idea, but I think it takes away from what a silent film is all about, not to mention not a single person from the cast will be heard, right? So, yeah. Not a selling point, for me. Still, this is not without interest. Someone ought to be getting a review copy sometime within, what, the next month or so?

So sorry to disappoint all my loyal friends and customers, but my 3-D original-ending Phantom is delayed a little bit. Unforseen technical problems. And I'm getting anonymous threats from the 3-D conspirators who own the monopoly on P.D. DVD releases. And my sciatica is acting up. But just you wait a little longer. I have a signed letter from Mary Philbin who says she loves it. And Rupert Julian is doing the audio commentary. P.S.: we've also got new bitz of Snitz.

Or did I miss something? The version you referenced above is another 3D copy of Chaneys' Phantom that's coming out straight to DVD this September. Carls' copy is hitting select theaters October 2012 and then however many more December 2012 and going to DVD an undetermined amount of time after its' movie theater run. The copy you referenced above is a totally different copy from Carls'.

Back when Disney's THE ROCKETEER was in theaters, the studio came out with a 3-D Rocketeer comic book adaptation of the movie that included an audio cassette for the read-along crowd. The cassette was marketed as having 3-D sound, as it was set up with stereo sound FX to make it sound as if the Rocketeer was flying overhead from one side to the other. Jul 24 11 4:17 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Just wanted to let everyone know that we showed PHANTOM last night outdoors in the park next to the museum where I work here in Colorado. The night was perfect -- cool & calm, and mule deer were grazing through the park just before the movie started. We had well-known pianist Hank Troy playing the accompaniment. The audience loved the film and Hank was fantastic. I gave a little intro on the film and on Colorado's own Lon Chaney before the film began. We hope this will be the first in a long line of classic silent films shown in Heritage Grove.

I'll take the moment to point out there's an interview with Chaney in the latest FREAKY MONSTERS. It's a pre-Phantom, post-Hunchback interview from 1922, but pretty interesting reading.
