Jun 9 11 12:49 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None I watched this film last night and realized that the horror undertones of this really funny film might not have a forum here. The allusions to such films as American Werewolf and the Universal Horror films really enriched a pretty solid story for me. And by the way, a pretty amazing achievement in stop motion animation, bu the way. The character of Quartermain, as voiced by Ralph Fiennes, is a great, funny villain, and I don't think that Wallace has ever been dumber. There are a number of spooky old school horror film touches in this which added that extra dimension for me too. There are also heavy classic science fiction influences in some of the other W&G outings such as the very George Melies like visit to the moon in 'A Grand Day Out' and the ex-NASA robotic techno trousers in 'The Wrong Trousers'.
