(Considering how much time and effort went into producing the costumes and miniatures you figure it would have been longer!!). Here is a color photo And here is the "movie poster" It was called Legend of the Superbeast: The Wolf Man Vs. Godzilla (Ookami Otoko tai Gojira). It was a 8MM fan short produced by SFA in 1989. I have another pic from the "production" but can't find it!! BTW I snagged those pics from an old website about ten years ago called Frankenstein Conquers the Web. The Catch of the Day!

The conjugation is "Huge" (巨＝kyo) and "Beast" (獣＝ju), therefore is should be transliterated along the lines of "Legendary Colossal Beast", and it makes for a nice genre reference. The full title is 『伝説の巨獣狼男対ゴジラ』(Densetsu-no Kyoju Ookami Otoko tai Gojira) or "Wolfman, The Legendary Colossal Beast vs. Godzilla". According to an article on 8mm filmmakers from Uchusen #2 (Spring 1980), an earlier version of this fan-film, produced and directed by Shizuo Nakajima (an effects reel running 15 minutes), which began production in 1979, boasted a Godzilla '64 suit, a completely different version of the Wolfman, and Baragon! Originally, the were going to have several Ultraman monsters appear in the film as well. This was all before they paired it down to just Godzilla and the Colossal Wolfman, and built a Godzilla '62 suit. The monster suits were made by the director and a young Fuyuki Shinada, who went on to become a pro monster-maker for film and television. In 1989, Nakajima, created a "trailer" from the footage shot for the aborted project. Another version of the trailer (running 5 minutes) was completed and run at an amateur film festival in 1993. In 2002, Nakajima put together a compilation of all of footage shot for the film, running approximately ten minutes for another public screening. Jun 2 11 9:50 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Boy that early version of the Wolfman (from 1980) looks like a mummy in that pic, while the later one (from 1989) looks like some freaky yeti. Nevertheless, those 62' and 64' godzilla suits look pretty amazing. I'd swear they were the actual suits. Even though its an amatuer film, the concept of Godzilla, Baragon and a giant albino Wolfman together in a film sounds pretty damn cool. Thanks for the info and pics August! The Catch of the Day!

You know the wolfman in the pics from the 80s looks a lot like the one in Tomo-O Haraguchi's two Kibakichi films. Maybe that's just the way the Japanese envision werewolves. That's a quote from the director talking about Toho's Frankenstein, so why not a Werewolf. 2. Unless you live in Japan and can catch a rare screening, no. 3. There are tons of other fan films. As for seeing them, refer to Answer 2. In fact, it was something of a fad in the 1980s and early 1990s, and there were dozens of them made and sold via ads in magazines and at events (most notably, LINE, THE LEGENDARY GIANT. General Products also made and released their own films, including PATRIOTIC TASK FORCE: GREAT JAPAN and THE RETURN OF ULTRAMAN (featuring Hideaki "Evangelion" Anno as Ultraman!). The most notable fan-film, released legitimately on home video: YAMATA-NO OROCHI STRIKES BACK, produced by General Products and distributed by Bandai-Emotion. Here's one of the most famous amateur tokusatsu films, General Products' PATRIOTIC TASK FORCE: GREAT JAPAN (1982)! Of course, the idea is ridiculous, but with a good script, which is kryptonite to such movies, and the removal of Wolfie for another biped, they may have a movie there. Wolfie's suit is also good, far better than the Kong suit. "Lord I love Spring! The birds, the fair weather, the new flowers. It doesn't get any better than this. HOLY CRAP! what's THAT?!?"

I've looked high and low for places online to try and view some of those General Production films. A very counterculture idea at the time, and a send up of then-currents in Japanese politics, and not only bashing the extreme right wing, but also many other politically taboo subjects.
