USA Network used to run this one all the time back in the 80's and I haven't seen it since. Based on that clip, I think its time to revisit this mess.

May 29 11 12:58 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	shark, yes indeedy, the mechanical Nessie that Peter Chesney and his mates constructed for Buchanan's THE LOCH NESS HORROR was the very same beastie that was pressed back into service for the AMAZON WOMEN IN THE MOON segment you mentioned. It's one of the funnier bits in a movie with a lot more misses than hits in its bag of gags. The movie went through a bunch of titles before it was released, to no avail as it died at the boxoffice. Joe said, glumly, they wouldn't have had many more customers if it had been called CLOSED FOR REMODELING.

Jun 3 11 1:35 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Great poster, but a "I could find a better monster at the toy store" critter and a script about as dynamic as MARS NEEDS WOMEN (but without the cast to make it that watchable). Nessie has so much story potential, but most of the movies made about the beastie seem to be a waste of time and film. Spoiler's quote reminds me of "Celebrity Deathmatch," wherein the Loch Ness Monster kills Bigfoot (his opponent) and galumphs off with a movie actress on his back (I forget which one). One announcer remarks that the two are in love and off to consumate their affair, and the other says something like, "UGH! That's a mental image I'd like to get out of my head!"

Jun 6 11 10:51 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	LB was quoted as saying, "Lake Tahoe looks more like Loch Ness than Loch Ness does." I wonder if he was ever even at Loch Ness. Those underwater clips are way too bright and clear, as visibility beneath the loch is very limited. (They should have at least tried to make it look dark and shadowy for the sake of atmosphere, if not authenticity. Think Cousteau-noir.) As for Lake Taho, a lot of time and film is wasted on a pointless sequence in which the main character's boat just races around in the water. Don't know if they were showing off the boat, or just padding the flick. Either way, a fast boat shouldn't be boring. The poster is great, though! Unfortunately nothing even remotely that dynamic happens in the film. (I'd have given Buchanan bonus points if he would have simply licensed the stop-motion footage from CRATER LAKE MONSTER and just cut that into the movie.)

Tales of a Cinema Schlockmeister (honest, that's the title), he and his missus did in fact visit the real Loch Ness as tourists, and that experience is what inspired him to make his own version of a Nessie movie.
