Still plenty of debauchery to keep things interesting, and from the previews it looks like this will be worth checking out. I haven't read the books.

'Tis a good thing -- for those who haven't read the books -- that the main titles/credits sequence features a detailed map of this particular fantasy world. It was helpful. Apr 18 11 4:39 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I found the HBO website helpful too, I wish I'd looked at it before the show aired. Hope the show does well, I know they have had mixed success with "period" shows, and they are very expensive to produce. Seems like just about all of them have gotten great reviews, though, so hopefully they will give the show a chance. About the only complaint I have is that I know that they are probably going to have to skimp on effects, and I can already see that CGI is being used to not very good effect. But hopefully that will be not that big of a deal.

May 6 11 7:21 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	It seemed to me that only that tribe of horse-riding barbarians--almost centaurs--didn't know the missionary position; I doubt that the series was taking a stand on ALL the cultures we see being ignorant of that particular sexual position. The new queen didn't know because she was a virgin.

May 22 11 1:54 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I just got caught up on the first four episodes of CAMELOT. While the dialogue and some of the performances are all over the map, I'm actually more drawn into CAMELOT than GAME OF THRONES. I find myself getting rather irritated by the episode pacing of GAME OF THRONES. Each episode seems to consist of a lot of yawn inducing dialogue followed by a sit-up-in-my-seat last two minutes, then the next week it's the same again. No real forward momentum happening for me. CAMELOT, on the other hand, seems to have a lot going on in each installment instead of just leading up to a last minute hook each week. Plus I'm loving Eva Green's Morgan. Anyway, I'm following both for the time being, but think I'm liking CAMELOT more despite finding GAME OF THRONES to be a far superior production. May 25 11 11:46 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Me too, I am way behind on the series. The show is really slow moving and there just isn't a hook that makes me want to tune in each week. It is available through video-on-demand so I will try and catch up with it sometime over the next couple of months. Ran into the same thing with THE KILLING. About the only new cable show right now that I watch every week is TREME.

Just a matter of taste, I suppose. We also love TREME, which may be the best current TV series. We like THE KILLING, too; the mystery plot is developing slowly but, I think, not slower than is necessary.

And now that it's near the end of the season things have really taken off. I was shocked that this past episode ended on a rather stunning note for one of the main characters. I can't wait to see the season finale. I think I'm going to go read the book once the season ends.
