I recall that the original poster had the two characters on top of the World Trade Center, which I am guessing was mocking the new Dino DeLaurentis KING KONG movie of the time?

This isn't as exciting as a U.S. release of G '85 or G VS. BIOLLANTE would be, but I'll still be picking it up.

As for MEGALON, sure it's silly and all, but I'm finding I much prefer that 60s/70s era of the 'Big G' as I get older. I think I was more embarrassed by GVM when I was 16 than I am at 49 ! "Guy named Squeamy got thrown from the fifth floor. He's deader'n a mackerel."

The first time I saw it was on a late night program called Sream Theatre as a double feature with Godzilla Vs Gigan (On Monster Island as it was called then) I haven't seen it in years, not since the late 90s, I used to have it on vhs.

THE BIONIC/COSMIC MONSTER did fall into the Public Domain. This was originally told to me 30 years ago by our own local horror host, Bob Wilkins, and I wondered how that could have happened. The Sci-Fi Channel would run the 16mm television prints of these things to death, back in the early 1990s, until Toho approached them and offered them better prints of the films. Toho was able to exercise copyright on not these versions of the films, but by the original English titles of the films (you'll note the disappearance of two of the three aforementioned titles). As for MEGALON, all Toho had to do was apply their trademark to the name "Godzilla" in the title and — VIOLA! Toho regained control on their versions of these three. My VHS says DIMENSION on it, so, this might be a fact. Cinema Shares also did the same thing with their "R-Rated" prints of MEGALON, and I was lucky enough to catch it at a theater in San Jose in the summer of 1976, as part of an all day Godzillathon (GHIDRAH, DESTROY ALL MONSTERS, MEGALON and YOG, MONSTER FROM SPACE)! Nov 16 11 3:21 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I have read about it but didn't the producers of THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN & THE BIONIC WOMAN force Cinema Shares to change the title from GODZILLA VS THE BIONIC MONSTER to GODZILLA VS THE COSMIC MONSTER? It always amazes me they got away with such a petty move. The term "bionic" can be traced back to the late Fifties, long before either tv series, and is credited to Colonel Jack E. Steele, a U.S. Air Force doctor. It was his work that eventually inspired Martin Caidin to write Cyborg, the novel that inspired THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN. (I think Steele even gets a mention in the book.) Deep Discount has MEGALON available for pre-order (and currently qualifies for 25% off if you use the code 25MORE at checkout). They list it as full screen 1.33:1, but that has to be a misprint. (And soundtrack CDs to both DESTROY ALL MONSTERS and GODZILLA VS. MEGALON are available to tie in with the DVDs/Blu-Rays.)
