Does anyone have any contact info for Andree Melly? Or better yet......does anyone have a spare signed photo of her in character from Brides of Dracula? Just a shot in the dark.

I dont have too much to add about this under-utilized actress. She did a partial reprise of her vampire girl in The Horror of it All and was in a Bonnie and Clyde sketch on an episode of The Benny Hill Show and apparently was alive and well at some recent Hammer Films related gatherings.

She's the woman who taught me to think overbites were so sexy.
As for contacting her... best I can come up with is write her c/o British Equity and have them forward the letter. |

She looked great at Bray 1999 .Aside from the gray hair she'd hardly changed a bit

At the time of Bray Days 1999, Melly and her husband Oscar (REVENGE OF FRANKENSTEIN) Quitak were running a hotel or some sort of resort in Spain. While Melly was still extremely attractive the sun had done some work on her skin. I got her and Yvonne Monlaur to sign a blowup of my cover for LITTLE SHOPPE OF HORRORS #14 (THE BRIDES OF DRACULA issue). Sadly, in 1998 I had been in contact with Marie Deveraux of TBoD (she even autographed a little card for me) and we were going to do an interview. I had some health problems and by the time I attempted to contact her again a few months later, she had disappeared - or had lost interest in talking. Pity. Had some nice notes from her.

Melly played Tony Hancock's girlfriend in early episodes of the original radio version of the classic BBC sitcom HANCOCK'S HALF HOUR.
Here's a page about her: www.tonyhancock.org.uk/andree.html http://www.MJSimpson.co.uk - cult movies and the people who make them

What is the correct pronunciation of her first name? I a little curious, as it has 2 "e", one of them with an accent mark.

In addition to BRIDES, she's very much worth watching in Terence Fisher's comedy THE HORROR OF IT ALL, even if the star is Pat Boone(!). Unfortunately, this is a tough film to find.

Gina is my favorite Hammer vampire, thanks to Ms. Melly's wonderful performance.

I have my vhs of it and there are a few grey market dvd-r's of it, but HORROR OFIT ALL is a tough one to track down. I dare say she is the best thing about
it.

THE HORROR OF IT ALL received two showings last year on TCM (or was it Fox Movie Channel). I think it was also released on one of those double-feature DVDs.

I think it was also released on one of those double-feature DVDs.Not on Region 1 it wasn't. Eddie Brandt's store in North Hollywood was supposed to have a vhs copy, but last time I was there they couldn't locate it on the shelves.

I never found Andree Melly that great looking compared to other Hammer chicks. I think it was the hair...

The scene in Brides when Gina rises from her coffin in the stables is killer! The look on her face is hotly sinister. ah....I just adore the Hammer bad girls.

I don't think anyone ever did the switch from sweet and innocent to evil vampire quite as effectively.
