I caught coverage of this on the local afternoon news. Apparently, the
Super Hero Museum in Indianapolis closed up shop in 2008 and the
collection of Superman, Batman, and other superhero items will be
auctioned off. The suits worn by George Reeves and Christopher Reeve,
replicas of the Batboat and Batmobile are included. This is a court ordered sale. From the Indy Star website: The second-largest collection of Superman-related objects and memorabilia in the world, according to www.artfixdaily.com, features items from comic books, movies and TV shows of the two superheroes."The
allure is the material itself," Ripley said. "There's a lot of very
affordable material in the sale as well. There are hundreds of pieces
under $100 per lot."
Catalog to be available Monday, January 17.
