If Tomatoes are a fruit.... Isn't Ketchup technically a smoothie?

My second car, and the first one I bought with my own money-- a 1966 Pontiac Bonneville convertible. What a wonderful automobile. I am not a car person, and take great delight in thinking that I will never have to own another car in my life. But...if I could own this thing again (and if I could afford the enormous gas bills), I would reconsider.

Ramblers really aren't so bad. Not all of them anyway. An ex-gf of mine drove a pink 1959 Rambler Custom (with original factory deluxe Continental package) and it was a sweet little ride.
But believe it or not, I always wanted a Gremlin. Of course I'd drastically customize it in a humorous way...stretch the hood section about six feet to make room for a blown Hemi, tub the rear wheels for that steamroller look, remove the front seats and sit in the rear ones, etc. I love cars like that because people look at them and get instantly bummed out.
I DID own a Chevy Vega station wagon once that I customized and turned into a mini-hearse as a goof. Vega's were such crapboxes (when is the last time you saw one on the road?). obviously planned obsolescence on the part of Chevy...which is why I've refused to own a Chevy since the 70's. They made them with aluminium engine blocks. Yes aluminium , that soft porous metal that instantly warps and pits as soon as it gets hot, creating a time-bomb that quickly explodes leaving double-fist sized holes in the side of the engine. Even with that design, if Chevrolet installed steel cylinder sleeves it would have worked. But Chevy didn't, they opted for going cheap and putting in engines they knew would blow within about 5-7 years. The only Vega that lasted was those that people installed non-Chevy engines in. (A Buick short six or Mopar slant-6 was usually the best choice.)
