"Does anyone know what the difference is between the 810 series and the PD series? Is one from the original release and the other from a later re-release?" Now, here's a questioned I'm stumped on using the PD series. In the middle of these, on page 5, PD953 the one with Karloff he has the horns on his forehead. I'm pretty sure the "Jack Pierce gives Karloff a trim" shot in from BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN. The "Superauctions" shot of the wigs is, I believe, actually from 1938 & SON OF F. (The hair is the giveaway.) It's remarkable how many of these things I've never seen. Betcha that's going through a lot of other heads, too.

Yes, PD (in this case) was used to designate a posed portrait. Sometimes (as in the case of your photos from BRIDE) posed character photos would be numbered as scene photos. Why? Who knows. PD was not a standard designation, however. I've seen films whose posed portraits begin with "A" or "X".

Also added 310-1-39 that you just located and sent to me earlier. "It's remarkable how many of these things I've never seen. Betcha that's going through a lot of other heads, too." Me , too !!! What I'm most excited about is the first two numbered stills here which are visual evidence of scenes that were filmed and then either not incorporated in the fiilm or removed from the film at some point, to my knowledge, this is the first I've heard or seen this.

And what changes the darkness into light? But if you talk like that, people call you crazy.
