I was never a big fan of MARVEL comics.  I simply couldn't get into those characters the way I could the DC heroes. 
Oh, I did have a few favorites on the MARVEL side of the street.  I would occasionally glance at a Spiderman comic
or a Fantastic Four story.  I liked the original concept of Captain America but, couldn't really get too interested in
some of the more modern adventures.  And I only started getting into the X-Men during the John Byrne period.  I hated
Thor, Submariner, the Hulk...  I was intrigued with Iron Man but, never really followed his stories.

I gravitated more to the DC heroes - especially Batman and Superman.  I didn't consider them infallible, as you describe
them, I thought of them more as committed to living higher principles ( which is something we all should strive to do ).  
I thought the MARVEL heroes were often too "messed up" themselves  to be proper role models. 

But, DC isn't what it used to be when I was a kid and neither is MARVEL.  The pendulum swings.  By and large, it is just
apples and oranges.  Considering my DC bias, I think I'm pretty fair minded about the movie versions of these heroes.  I loved
the original SPIDERMAN franchise.  I was less enthused with the X-MEN films. I'm still not sure what I should think about this
new SPIDERMAN re-boot.  I just didn't feel it was necessary ( not as necessary as it was for the BATMAN franchise, anyway! )
SUPERMAN RETURNS was a noble effort but missed the mark.  GREEN LANTERN was a big dissapointment - total crap.
I loved CAPTAIN AMERICA and IRON MAN ( still haven't seen IRON MAN II ).  Predictably, I steered clear of THE HULK. 
I even liked the film version of THOR ( a comic character I despised ).  The FANTASTIC FOUR movies weren't what they should
have been but, I still enjoyed them for what they were.

Am I looking forward to THE AVENGERS?  Yes, it looks like it will be quite good.  I'm not happy that a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie
wasn't made years and years ago but, I'm hopeful that THE AVENGERS will "raise the bar" in order that we will eventually have
a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie worth seeing!  And, of course, I'm looking forward with great curiosity to Nolan's final BATMAN effort.

I guess I'm just as perplexed over this as I am over people who argue over whether THE MUNSTERS or THE ADDAMS FAMILY
is better.  Why must there be a rivalry?  Can't you be happy with BOTH of them?

I've never been completely happy with the Batsuit design, either.  But it's flaws are more evident in still photographs than they are in action up on the screen where it counts.  Christian Bale's gargling-with-razor-blades Batman voice is another distracting point for me.  Keaton's Batman voice sounded intense - but natural.  Bale's is so over-the-top that it begins to strike you as humorous.  I was never a big fan of the Tumbler, either.  It's not the sleek, cool Batmobile of the traditional Dark Knight.

These, too, are valid points.  However, we still need to see how it works in the context of the film itself.  For all we know, at this point in the storyline, Batman and Catwoman have teamed-up and her outfit is supplied by Wayne Tech.  That would explain why the costumes have such a similar style. 

I'm also concerned about the broad daylight scenes not working.  This could be another sticking point.
but, having said all of that, Nolan's "take" on the character overall has still managed to "work" for me.  Therefore, I remain cautiously optimistic.

Disagree with you you about the Tumbler, Gotham. I think its the coolest and most logical design of the batmobiles and thought the chase sequences in both films were fantastic. Another thing I like is the sound effect that the tumbler gives off.

Logical "Yes" - it works within the context of the story.  I can accept it ( and have accepted it ) on that basis.  But, Cool "No" - it hasn't got the charisma of a sleek, Bat-like vehicle.  I'm not rushing out to buy model kits of this design nor would I want a full scale one in my own Garage ( and yes, I have seen it up close and personal at Mann's Chinese Theater ).
