One of the things that really bothered me about the makeup in EOF was the pasty white color; the makeup seems to fit in with a black and white film or something that was done in the silent era.

Hammer apparently had no rear projection stage so whenever they had to insert a character into a moving BG it was travelling matte, which you can shoot anywhere. And it was rarely any good. The blue screen work in The Devil's Bride is awful.
