I don't know if my new Playstation 3 will play the UK Blu Ray or not, but I have a deck that does play PAL DVDs. Speaking of PAL DVDs, did I hear that PIT AND THE PENDULUM (1961) is anamorphic and doesn't suffer from the motion artifacts that plagued the MGM stateside DVD?

Does anybody know which ones? Region O, for example? All-region encoded? PAL DVD? Blu-Ray PAL? Any tips would be most welcome.

PAL usually does no apply to Blu-ray unless there are standard definition extras in PAL. It's about regional encoding, if a player plays some PAL DVD. Many players will play PAL or NTSC or at least pass on a PAL signal to a TV that plays either. It's the regional encoding that prohibits playback. These new Hammer's are encoded, and in may cases it's so the transfers can be resold to other territories.
