Wellllll, I shoulda posted this before I thought about it some more ... make that my THIRD favorite, after WHITE ZOMBIE and KING OF THE ZOMBIES. Mantan rulz!

The term "zombie" is a bit of a misnomer when it comes to the Romero flesheaters. Romero himself never intended for them to be called zombies. They're more akin to ghouls if anything, and even that's a stretch since, according to folklore, ghouls are supernatural beings that eat the flesh of the dead (though they can certainly attack and devour the living as well). I really like 'Plague of the Zombies,' 'I Walked With a Zombie,' and 'White Zombie.' I guess I have a bit of a chip on my shoulder when it comes to the gore-laden, flesh-devouring types because they've almost completely displaced the classic, shambling Undead zombie in popular consciousness.
