Unspeakably inept, unbelievably boring, unrelievedly abysmal.

Sep 20 10 5:19 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Rick, the more I think about it, the more I have to agree with you. I voted for DOCTOR Rx, just because it's sooooo bad and I've just seen it again. But I guess it's got one good horrific moment in the laboratory with the gorilla, which is very unnerving. Meanwhile, LIFE RETURNS doesn't really offer anything.

I can usually get enjoyment out of even the smelliest of Universal horror films but SHE WOLF OF LONDON seriously tries my patience every time I attempt to watch it so I have no problem labeling it the worst. As for LIFE RETURNS it is indeed absolutely rotten but I really don't count it as a Universal as it was an indie production that Universal just picked up for distribution and besides it is more of a melodrama than anything else. Or enter them as a combo: the SemiUniversal double-feature LIFE RETURNS and THE BRUTE MAN! There's a couple of viewing hours I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Sep 24 10 6:11 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	LIFE RETURNS is in the UNIVERSAL HORRORS book, so that's why I included it. I think either of the JUNGLE movies (especially THE JUNGLE CAPTIVE, which is underrated IMO) run circles around LIFE RETURNS. THE BRUTE MAN is not a good film, but getting to see more of Rondo Hatton is a good thing.
