Does anyone know what the "MGM DVR Series" is?? I have tried to look it up online but cannot find any information on it. I read an article a few weeks ago that had a bunch of old AIP (Magic Serpent, Jack and the Witch) and non AIP titles (Message from Space!) titles listed as coming out as part of the "MGM DVR" Series and I have no clue what that means.. anyone??

Sep 24 10 2:05 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Oh Wow!! That would be nice!! The prints on the Orion tapes a few years ago were really nice so these would probably be excellent discs. MGM owns the rights to so much excellent stuff it would be nice if they followed through with releases which I think may happen because they have been playing really nice clean prints of a lot of old AIP titles on "thisTV". I DVR'd "Curse of the Swamp Creature" !! a few weeks ago and that was probably the 1st time that movie was played on TV in 20 years. The color was really nice and overall it looked so much better than any print I have ever seen. Thank You for the information and the proper name of the series!!

As others have mentioned, MGM did release a number of titles on DVD-R through Amazon/CreateSpace, but they were mostly UA titles, plus a handful of Cannon and Orion. MAGIC SERPENT, MESSAGE FROM SPACE and JACK AND THE WITCH were not part of the series, and to the best of my knowledge were never even considered. (JOHNNY SOKKO was announced but never released; MAGIC SERPENT definitely will not happen as the rights have expired.)

GREEN SLIME runs 90m 4s on the WAC dvd -- a composite of the Japanese version and the older TCM version adds up to be the same runtime. Guess that means this WAC disc is the full length, uncut version. It does indeed look good. Not a perfect transfer, but superior to the Japanese version I have. FX & green-screen shots are naturally softer and have more damage. There are white specks here and there and some occasional scratches. Perfectly acceptable transfer. Here's some caps: Comparison shots between Japanese version and new WAC version. Notice the WAC version is slightly zoomed in. No idea if that's just the way theirs was framed or if it was done during transfer. Either way, it isn't that different and the WAC transfer looks crisper and much more colorful. JAPANESE: WAC: Kundun Rat Terrier: 8/16/02 - 3/26/11. RIP, Ku.
