ATLANTIS may be in 1:85-1, which would be a first for that title (it was full frame on VHS, laserdisc, and on TCM). Will confirm when I hear anything substantial about this release.

I'm pretty sure there are scenes of extras fleeing near a dock or something in Quo Vadis
I remember the scenes with the submarine circling the raft with the protagonists on it, surfacing, etc., and I will be damned if it did not look like they were filming a full-size submarine in action.

(By the way, Quo Vadis is a question --- is there a question mark in the title?)

QUO VADIS was an MGM flick, hence the stock footage was at G.P.'s disposal. But I've always wondered how our pal George got away with using snippets from Paramount's THE WAR OF THE WORLDS in Metro's THE TIME MACHINE. Did Pal secure clearance from the powers that be at Zukor central? Or is it possible (slim as the possibility may be) that he had some ownership stake in TWOTW which gave him the right to recycle FX shots? Or did he just up and appropriate the footage, Paramount legal department be damned? Apropos of ATLANTIS,. I have the WB Archive disc and the widescreen transfer looks peachy keen to my peepers. Wolfe "Elsu" Barzell never seemed more colorful (and in glorious Metrocolor yet), John Dall's pearlies never shined so blindingly bright, and the dopey hats never looked so, er, dopey -- not even in THE PRODIGAL, the mega-dopey biblical epic from which the headgear hails.
