I'll freely admit that Tokyo SOS has some really nice effects, a decent score, and good camera work. However, I just cannot get into the story or those who inhabit it, it's got some of the dullest characters and besides Kozumi, most are just interchangeable with one another. Megaguirus for me, a movie considered flawed by many, at least had some fun ideas and characters. The story has cool idea, the sinking of a US sub, the heavy use of Bio-Chem suits, and the idea of fighting Godzilla in a previously destroyed area, but never goes anywhere with them.
Toyko SOS is a movie I really want to like, but I've never been able to, beside the military and monster scenes their isn't a lot to enjoy with the film. That said with the skip button its enjoyable to watch large chunks of the movie. I just wish I could enjoy the entire film.
I wonder if you couldn't make a decent movie editing GXMG and Tokyo SOS together into one feature.
Oh does anyone know if the rumored post apoc story of people worshiping MG was ever anything more than fan speculation and fantasy?
