One of Jim Davis's last movies was THE DAY TIME ENDED in 1980, made at the exact same time as Davis was appearing on DALLAS. It opened (in Louisville, at least) the same week, maybe the same day, as THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. I saw both of them back-to-back at the multiplex. Needless to say, DAY TIME ENDED rather paled in comparison. But, as I was watching it, I couldn't help wondering why Davis was in it? Why, when he was Emmy-nominated for one of TV's most popular series, would he agree to appear in such a lousy, cheap movie? I wonder what his agent was thinking of? There must have been something better available to him.
