Yeah, PHARAOH'S CURSE has never seen an official DVD release that I'm aware of (at least not Region 1). I have a pretty decent gray market copy of it which I scored years ago on e-Bay (it's paired with a really crummy copy of VOODOO ISLAND on the disc I own). Aug 24 10 12:57 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	According to Val Guest, Landau had nothing to do with the writing of QUATERMASS XPERIMENT; Landau wrote a lot of movies for Robert Lippert, who helped finance QUATERMASS, and who stuck his girlfriend Margia Dean in the movie. I tend to believe Guest, but who knows? The one time I talked to Landau, phoning to ask if I could do a phone interview with him in the near-future, he was gruff and sounded annoyed and couldn't have brushed me off and hung up any faster.

Martinez and his Mambo Combo appeared the previous year in Sam Katzman's ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK, so it isn't hard to imagine the Bel-Air boys poaching Pepino from the wilds of Katzman's jungle for a bit of wack-a-doo ballyhoo.

Aug 24 10 6:13 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'll echo some of the sentiment that was being expressed towards this film in the FOUR SKULLS thread and say that it is a very creepy little movie indeed. I particularly like the opening act of the film that sets a tone of dread when the British soldiers trek across the desert and begin to encounter strange things that tells them that something isn't right. Also the old man/monster that comes into play during the second half of the film is sufficiently grotesque and creepy as well.

He didn't seem so creepy to me as a kid because I thought he was wearing striped pajamas. It's tough to be scared of an old man in pajamas.
