Jul 14 10 11:32 PM Burgomaster Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	After John Landis won a Rondo for the DVD of An American Werewolf in London, we exchanged e-mails from London, where I learned he was working on a film about the famous grave robbers Burke and Hare. That led to this article for USA TODAY, which appears in Thursday's paper and online, on the upcoming BURKE & HARE. Among the cast: Tim Curry and Sir Christopher Lee and a surprise appearance by a certain stop-motion guy who lives in England! A couple of videos shot at the time by a local resident: Burke & Hare 1 and Burke & Hare 2. You can also see, during the Doors Open day in September, the actual skeleton of William Burke in the anatomy museum of the University of Edinburgh's Medical School.

Carl, that is pretty much the feeling I got from it too, right down to Simon Pegg being funny just because he's Simon Pegg. Just seems rather heavy-handed in a "Oh, look we're being funny here. No really, honestly, we are being funny." sort of way which is so forced everything falls flat. I looked up the screenwriters, which did nothing for my confidence...since they were responsible for the two recent St. Trinian's films. Ah, well, I'll see BURKE AND HARE anyway, since I really like a lot of the cast, but my expectations are not terribly high based on that trailer. You know, all the elements make you think you are going to get something brilliant, but you just get some good. I have no doubt it will be good. Lord knows I will be there for it with bells on! If I remember right, Dr. And The Devils had a pretty black sense of humor amongst the serious aspects. Burke and Hare were true life bumbling twits, from what it would seem by the portrayals of them.
