Dracula will forever be one of my favorite horror films of all time. It is truly amazing! I will never loose the desire to watch this film that gives of such a deep, classic feel + The, seeing what stalks the night with out your knowledge, feel. It's so incredible. You've got great, spooky scenery and sounds of the night, and 3, truly captivating characters! That's Dracula. I just got done watching this film 2 nights in a row. Last Night I watched it with my buddy Dan (Who Some of you who watch my films know as Do it Daniel). He's 18, very new, hip and into this igeneration. Also very picky about films never really open to the films I try to show him. But last night I said, "Dan, This Film will blow you're mind." And before he could say "No, I can't sit through a black and white film" I popped that sucker in VCR and we began watching Dracula. Even my buddy Dan loved this movie! I really believe that if kids my age were open to the film, they would like. It's not that Dracula, Frankenstein and The Wolf man are lame. It's that, "Oh it's old, and in Black and white." If they only gave it a try, they would love it. Come on, I don't care who you are. You cannot say anything bad about the Count Dracula characters! Renfield is one of the most captivating characters I have ever seen on screen. He is fantastic! Dwight Frye was such a talented actor! I miss him. I never knew him, But I believe we could have been good friends. We could have just partied together.
He would come over my house. "Dwight! You made it!" "Oh Yes. I don't know what happened to my luggage, and with all this...I thought I was in the wrong Place." ME: "No, Dude come on in and hang out." I just love that dude. Over all, this film is just amazing. It inspires me every time I watch it. I, in the future, intend to make a Dracula film of some sort. Not remake but a honorary sequel about this generations Dracula, catching him in young stages of his Vampire years. I just see this film as such a work of art. It's even more entertaining than Frankenstein.
Post your thoughts on this amazing film, I know everyone thinks it's great, but what the heck, lets just celebrate it's greatness. I don't know.
PS: I intend to post a deeper review of this film, but until then, here is a review I recorded when I was maybe 12.
